Summary of Position Functions

The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for establishing and managing marketing and communications programs based on best practices that support T2’s strategic goals at a corporate level including communicating T2 brand position to external and internal audiences.

This position requires a wide range of skills including the ability to lead and influence others, work as a leader and team player, and manage outside partner relationships.

Essential Position Functions

  • Develops marketing communications objectives based on Corporate, Sales, Product Marketing and Marketing goals.
  • Develops and implements marketing communications plan and calendar to be incorporated in T2 Marketing Plan and Calendar, and develops processes to track, measure and report results.
  • Develops and refines marketing communications materials including advertising, sales collateral, digital marketing, promotional materials, event support, and direct marketing and lead generation campaigns.
  • Writes and edits messaging in print and digital mediums, and works openly and effectively with other departments to effectively capture and convey value propositions and customer benefits.
  • Manages T2 web content including the public website and the customer website to deliver compelling content in a timely manner and use Google Analytics to optimize SEM/SEO.
  • Manages media relations and T2 speakers’ bureau, secures speaking engagements for T2 staff and assists with presentation development.
  • Manages relationships with outside marketing vendors and partners.
  • Works well independently and is able to establish strong working relationships with remote stakeholders and helps educate T2 staff about marketing tools available and how to use them.

Education and Qualifications

  • To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university; and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able and willing to travel both domestic and international at least 10% of the time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to learn quickly and gain knowledge of T2’s software products, services, and processes is required, which can be obtained through T2’s training tools, subject matter experts, technical documentation, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Curious and creative by nature, the Marketing Communications Manager must possess high level of strategic thinking, problem solving skills and analytical abilities.
  • Strong writing skills and significant writing experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and graphic design software.
  • Must have excellent ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, staff, customers, and external audiences.
  • Ability to work with a CRM, sales force automation, or marketing automation software to manage projects and campaigns desired.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments.
  • Experience working with the public sector (e. g. municipalities, universities) desirable.
  • Experience in software/firmware development environment preferred.
