Barbara J. Chance, Ph.D., Recognized as Parking Professional of the Year
CMA is pleased to announce that its Founder, President and CEO, Dr. Barbara J. Chance, has received the International Parking Institutes Parking Professional of the Year recognition at the Institutes annual conference, held in Pittsburgh, PA from 22-25 May 2011.
Citing Barbaras many and varied contributions to the parking industry and CMA clients, the IPIs award materials, and client and peer endorsements, included the following:
Long before sustainability became the buzzword it is today, Barbara was helping (parking and transportation system) owners optimize their existing resource management and operations as the initial and preferred course of action.
Spanning a broad array of parking-related topics, including on-street management, automated parking, public-private partnerships and university access management strategies, Barbaras deep knowledge and skills as a public speaker, instructor and emissary for the parking industry are unparalleled.
As a client of Barbaras firm for the last three years I can only say that she and her colleagues have done Cal U a great service. She has helped us make the transition from free parking on this campus I have told everyone who would listen that we could not have done it without Barbara Chances help.
Angelo Armenti, Jr., Ph.D.

Barbara Chance is, quite simply, the smartest thinker about parking I have ever met.
Dr. Tallman Trask III
Executive Vice President
Duke University
When weighty decisions are made, many of us wonder what would Barbara think about that, and just as many pick up the phone to find out. She is a role model for parking professionals everywhere
