British Parking Association to present Lifetime Achievement Award
The best parking management, innovations and designs will be recognised in the British Parking Awards 2013, which will be announced at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, on Friday 8 March 2013.
The British Parking Association will be presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award at the event. This new special award will recognise a parking professional who has made an outstanding contribution to the sector. The candidates will be based on nominations from within the parking sector and assessed by a panel of experts drawn from across the sector.
Entries are now being accepted for the competition, now in its 12th year. The awards are presented by Parking Review magazine and organised by Landor. Entry to the competition is free. The deadline for entries is Monday 17 December.
Mark Moran, managing editor of Parking Review and organiser of the awards, said: “We are delighted that the BPA will be presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award this year. The improvements that have occurred across the parking sector in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, customer service and community engagement are a consequence of the dedication, enthusiasm and innovative thinking of many often unsung individuals. We hope that this award will provide an opportunity to honour those individuals who have made parking their career and passion.”
The aim of the British Parking Awards is to recognise and celebrate best practice, innovation and achievement in the design and management of both public and private sector parking. The event regularly attracts between 80 and 100 entries. Last year BAA and Ultra Global PRT were named the Overall Winner of the British Parking Awards for developing a driverless ‘pod’ system which links Heathrow Terminal 5 with its business car parks. The PRT system also won the Innovation and Environment categories. Full details can be found at the official website: www.britishparkingawards.co.uk
