Elavon, the global acquirer, is the victorious winner of last night’s Mobile Payment Award 2013 at the Merchant Payments Ecosystem event in Berlin.
Picked by a panel of independent European payment experts, the winning solution ensures that businesses on the go can accept Visa® and MasterCard® credit and debit cards. Authorised through Chip and PIN on a fully certified PIN pad, Elavon MobileMerchant works in conjunction with a smartphone or tablet. The solution was developed in collaboration with Elavon and CreditCall and was first launched in the UK in January 2012 and in the Republic of Ireland in October 2012.
Mark Latham, VP International Mobile Products at Elavon Merchant Services commented, “As a major player in the acquiring space we work with a number of third party organisations. What impressed us most is CreditCall’s flexibility and willingness to work alongside and support us so we were able to excel and deliver our objectives. We are delighted we made the right decision in choosing CreditCall for our project.”
Sian Bosley, CardEase Mobile Commercial Director at CreditCall added “We are thrilled that Elavon has won the Mobile Payments Award. Elavon MobileMerchant launched a year ago and was the first commercially available Chip and PIN solution in the world. It’s exciting that this has been recognised by such a prestigious and expert panel.”
