Kele awarded contract for Dragon Mart Hotel

Kele Contracting announced that it was awarded the contract to build the Dragon Mart Hotel, part of the 177,000 Sq M Dragon Mart Phase 2 development. The Dragon Mart Hotel will be located to the north east of the existing Nakheel Dragon Mart complex.

Commenting on this occasion, Andrew Elias, CEO of Kele Contracting, said: “We are very pleased to be awarded the contract to construct the Dragon Mart Hotel, which forms an excellent addition to our extensive portfolio of projects.  

The nine storey 3-star hotel, including ground floor and roof, will feature approximately 246 rooms. The project is scheduled to be completed in thirteen months, and will encompass a built up area of approximately 14,000 metres squared. During the development of the hotel, Kele will be responsible for the full scope of the work on the project and delivering the project turnkey.
Kele was also awarded the contract to build a modern multi-storey car parking facility for Dragon Mart by Nakheel earlier in the year, to cater to the increasing number of shoppers and visitors at the centre.

Scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2012, the gate-controlled car park will contain approximately 1,894 additional parking spaces spread over 4 storeys as well as underground parking, and will feature the latest in car parking engineering, such as high-speed elevators, natural ventilation and lighting as well as advanced fire and safety specifications. 

Dragon Mart is a retail complex consisting of various retail outlets, a hypermarket, cinema, children’s amusement area, gym and food and beverage venues, and is open for traders in the wholesale and retail business. The completion of Phase 2 will bring the total size of the Dragon Mart complex to 335,000 Sq M.
