For the first time, drivers in Norristown can pay to park from their smartphones. Passport Parking, the mobile payment application for parking powered by Passport, allows for users to pay for parking at nearly 400 spaces throughout the municipality.
Once the free application is downloaded, users simply create an account, choose a parking zone, and enter the vehicle license plate number to begin a parking session. With the Passport Parking app, users can receive notifications when their sessions are about to expire and extend their sessions with the tap of a button.
“Whether you are a resident or a visitor of Norristown, paying to park throughout the municipality should be a hassle free and seamless experience,” said Christopher Lefebvre, parking enforcement supervisor. “With Passport, we can now provide a more convenient payment option for parking and simultaneously increase compliance.”
The Municipality of Norristown joins over 1,000 other cities and universities in managing vehicle interactions on streets and sidewalks through Passport’s operating system.
“Adding Passport Parking to its operations is a significant milestone for Norristown and we are excited to partner with the municipality,” said Anthony Caddell, Passport sales executive. “Digitizing its parking payments enables Norristown to welcome other payment methods and provide more consumer choice.”
